CODATA Workshop Biography

Marcio Faerman

Marcio Faerman is a Project Manager in the Directorate of Innovation at RNP, where he coordinates e-Science, grid and network projects, in the context of nationwide and international collaborations. Before joining RNP, in 2006, Marcio was involved in a number of research and development cyberinfrastructure efforts in the United States for ten years. At the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) he was responsible for the development and management of technologies integrating cross disciplinary applications, grid computing, digital libraries aggregating more than one hundred terabytes of data and high-end computing infrastructures, such as the Teragrid. His research also includes the allocation management of computing, communication and storage resources targeting performance optimization of applications and systems. Marcio holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego. He also has a M.Sc in Computer Networks and a B.S in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
