Luiz Augusto Toledo Machado

Has experience in Meteorology, with emphasis in Remote Sensing of the Atmosphere, working mainly in the following subjects: convection, climatology, convective system and nowcasting. B.Sc in Meteorology at the University of São Paulo (1981), Master in Meteorology at the University of São Paulo (1984), Diplôme Of études Approfondies Oceanologie Meteorologie - Universite of Paris VI (Pierre et Marie Curie) (1989), and PhD in Meteorology and Oceanography at Universite of Paris VI (Pierre et Marie Curie) (1992). Visiting researcher of the NASA/GISS and the LMD/France. Currently he is Professor of PhD Program at INPE, Titular Researcher of the National Institute of Space Research and head of the Satellite Division of the CPTEC/INPE.. Member of the Expert Team in Satellite Application of the WMO, member of the GEWEX Radiation Panel and the International Commission on Clouds and Precipitation and rapporteur of the WMO Space Program in the RAIII.
