Towards a National Policy to Provide Access to Scientific Information and Data in a Developing Country

One of the main objectives of the scientific information programs carried out by CONICYT since its creation in 1967, has been to ensure the provision of open and equitable access to scientific information to all researchers in the country. This supposes special activities and the definition of a legal framework to ensure both access to foreign scientific information and the diffusion and accessibility of information and data produced in the country. The main programs already in existence will be presented and discussed.
